On April 19th, 2013 the Geneva Chamber of Commerce will host 30 Men vs 30 Women Who Cook. This year, as in years past, the event will include 60 local celebrities cooking off for charity. The 60 persons who cook event is done to benefit the Geneva History Center, the Geneva Rotary, and the Geneva Lions Club. Attendees will sample various dishes including hors d’oeuvres, main dishes, side dishes & desserts made by people you know and then vote for your favorite. The benefit takes place at the Prairie Event Center at the Kane County Fairgrounds. Doors open at 5:30pm and samplings start at 6pm. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Geneva History Center, State Street Jewelers or Paper Merchant. Additionally, tickets can be purchased through the Geneva Chamber of Commerce’s website.
This is a great event that helps support several vital local organizations. If you have not visited it yet, I would suggest you check out the Geneva History Center sometime. It is has great exhibits on local and regional history, they have a number of programs available, and they have an extensive archive of maps, atlases, genealogical information, newspaper microfilms, and over 10,000 photographs, documents and books. The Geneva History Center operates on voluntary private donations and does not receive public monies for operations. It is certainly 0ne of Geneva’s many treasures.
This is a fun event for our community that helps support some great local organizations. If you are able, try to make it out to 30 Men vs 30 Women Who Cook on April 19.
